Claims Submission Process


Electronic Claims Submission


Assurant Health contracts with a number of primary networks that can be identified by the appearance of the network's logo in the lower left-hand corner on the left-half of a member's medical insurance ID card. Please be sure to review the back of that ID card for the most current claim submission process.

To submit claims electronically*, please contact Change Healthcare (formerly known as Emdeon) to submit claims for the following Assurant Health Payer IDs:

Scheduled Availability and Downtime


Assurant Health’s system to support HIPAA transactions is available 24 hours a day, 7 days per week with the following exceptions:

Routine maintenance - is performed on Sunday mornings between 6 – 9 a.m. Central Time. Transactions submitted during this time may receive rejection messages indicating that Assurant Health is unable to process their transaction at that time.

Planned/scheduled outage/non-routine downtime (outside of the weekly maintenance window) - notification of any planned outage will be sent to the email address(es) provided for the trading partner at least one week in advance of the planned outage. Transactions submitted during this time may receive rejection messages indicating that Assurant Health is unable to process their transaction at that time. If feasible we will post the actual scheduled non-routine downtime on this website.

Unplanned outage/emergency downtime -  notification of an outage will be sent to the email address(es) provided for all impacted trading partners as soon as possible if the outage is expected to be for an extended period of time.
