Specific changes are the promotions Scott Krienke to Senior Vice President – Product Lines, Steve Cain to Senior Vice President – Underwriting and Risk Management and Charles Steele to Vice President – Individual Markets.

As Senior Vice President – Product Lines, Scott Krienke will oversee Assurant Health’s Individual, Small Group and Specialty product lines, and he will assume responsibility for the execution of the company’s growth initiatives, implementation and retention activities for each of these product lines.
Krienke joined Assurant Health in 1984 and previously served as Senior Vice President – Individual Markets, Vice President – Human Resources, as well as Vice President – Claims and Customer Service. During his tenure, Krienke has played a critical role in several key initiatives, including the development of the company’s Health Savings Account (HSA) products. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Marquette University, as well as the FLMI and ALHC industry designations.
As Senior Vice President – Underwriting and Risk Management, Steve Cain will provide leadership and oversight for Assurant Health’s underwriting, risk and operational areas of customer acquisition. Cain joined the company in 1983 and his previous roles have included Vice President – Underwriting and Risk Management, Vice President – Product Management and Vice President – Marketing and Market Research. Under his leadership, Assurant Health has become a highly regarded industry innovator in independent agent business administration through initiatives such as Condition-Specific Deductibles, Express Underwriting and ExpressYes. Cain holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Actuarial Science from the University of Wisconsin, as well as the industry designations, Associate of the Society of Actuaries and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
Since joining Assurant Health in 2005, Charles Steele has provided leadership in the areas of field technology, compensation support and agent training functions in his role as Vice President – Agent Marketing. In his new role as Vice President – Individual Markets, Steele will assume focus and oversight responsibilities for Assurant Health’s Individual Medical product line including products, pricing, services and underwriting.
Prior to joining Assurant Health, Steele worked at Great-West Healthcare, where his responsibilities ranged from large group underwriting to sales support to product development and program management. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington and his Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Denver.
