Assurant Health Offers Customers a Special H1N1 Vaccine Benefit

As flu season approaches, Assurant Health is serious about the phrase "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." That’s why we’re offering a special benefit for the H1N1 (swine flu) vaccination to keep our customers healthy this flu season.

Assurant Health is paying the administration fee for vaccinations received at any Walgreens pharmacies or Take Care ClinicsSM (located in select Walgreens) where the vaccine is available. This means the fee for the vaccine is not subject to deductible, coinsurance or copay – and customers won’t be billed.

All Assurant Health customers will receive a letter outlining how to take advantage of this benefit. Individual Medical and Small Employer Group customers can simply present their Medco prescription drug card and photo ID when they get their vaccination.

Short Term Medical, Student Select and any other customers who do not have a drug card will receive one vaccine voucher for each covered family member along with their letter. The vouchers are to be used as cash, and are redeemable at any Walgreens where the vaccine is available through March 31, 2010.

Customers who get the vaccination at locations other than Walgreens or Take Care Clinics? will need to present their Assurant Health ID card. The vaccination will be covered according to their plan’s provisions.
